Parents are the single most important factor in a child’s well-being, achievements
and future prospects. This document sets out how Sheffield City Council and its partners are developing services for parents and how we can involve them in shaping services for themselves and their children. This document is aimed at professionals who work with parents in order to give shared understanding of our over-arching approach. Further publications aimed at parents and children themselves are under development. In Sheffield we are committed to working with parents in ways which empower them to be able to make real choices for themselves and their families. We will implement this strategy in Sheffield's Service Districts where the focus is on personalisation of services to address individual needs.
