Every Child Matters Consultation 2008

 
The 2008 process consulted through questionnaires with approximately 7,000 children and young people aged 0-19+; 61 schools, 7 children’s centres, colleges and work based training providers were all involved. Also, 25 focus groups took place, with 5 sessions being held with specific vulnerable groups (looked after children [LAC], children with disabilities, young people not in education, employment or training [NEET]). Following the analysis, children and young people will identify priorities to further examine the reasons behind certain findings and, with the help of service providers, develop solutions to the issues raised. 
 
The consultation is based around the 5 Every Child Matters outcomes:
 
  • Be Healthy 
  • Staying Safe 
  • Enjoy and Achieve 
  • Positive Contribution 
  • Economic Well-being
 
Feedback will be given through newsletters and presentations to providers to ensure that the findings from the consultation are widely disseminated throughout the city.  This will help to feed the views of children and young people into the planning, delivery and evaluation of services across the city.
