Parents' Assembly

Sheffield Parents' Assembly
"Parents' Assembly is a superb initiative that every local authority ought to have."

- Gervase Phinn, July 2010

Sheffield's Parents' Assembly, launched in National Parenting Week from 19 - 23 October 2009, brings together mothers, fathers and carers from across the City to be part of decision making around services for children, young people and families.

It is a place where you can:

  • Gain and share information;
  • Discuss issues with other parents and carers;
  • Influence and evaluate services; and,
  • Work with services in planning and service delivery.

The meetings are informal and relaxed and issues that matter to parents are discussed, such as education, crime and inequalities. You will find out about what is happening across Children and Young People's Services and will be asked for your views on local issues.

Support will be on hand for parents at all meetings and via this web page at all other times.
